Biua by Mario Gerth

"Contrary to the elaborate face-painting of their husbands, women of Karos (Ethiopia) use less makeup but they content themselves with decorative scars, chains oaf cowrie shells and beads, fruit or vegetable fibbers.
The bright view of Biua, this young Karo Woman struck me instantly. I asked her husband for permission and was allowed to photograph her.
In the big bright eyes of this young girl, I discovered a deep hidden sense of all the beauty of Africa. In them the vastness of the savannah reflects the modesty of life and the fortitude of a nomad of the savannah of Africa."
