DESCRIPTION

"A quiet sing-song humming comes through her full lips, only a melody, then suddenly a few words leaves her mouth, ever so tender notes that eventually get lost in the emptiness of Africa.

An internal dynamic slowly seizes this petite body, now awake and powerful carries out her work and gives form to her life. Only covered with a colorful goat-skirt the young girl moves the plunger in the wooden mortar to grind corn - up and down. Without shoes she tries to claw her feet on the sandy Laternit ground, lifts the child's body of off the road, against the mortar and to Africa. Her voice is always stronger under the vocals sounded only wounded and tearful, but now bursting with energy, filled with life, assiduously - God knows where." - Mario Gerth

The images breathe a diversity and naturalness missing from the Western world. Gerth's photography has been shown in International exhibitions and published in numerous magazines including Time Magazine who named him a world changer.
