The Mursi from the river.

Among the traditional African cultures a healthy and well-built body is useful and as such is also respected and maintained. Men and women use their bodies and decorate it as a loving piece of art, to send signals to convert status or to show skill.

Curved lines of lime, fallen fruit from the ground, the coveted cowrie shells, branded fibbers of shrubs or massive horns of wild boar - the body of this young Africans merge the elements of the earth and back to life. If you look at this beauty you will always find new details. You look at the oldest and most tasteful form of art.

Mario Gerth is an incredible German photographer who has travelled to more than 65 countries across 5 continents in pursuit of his passion. He has witnessed civil war, poverty, dictatorship and violence but more often he has been guest in a world that is characterized by natural beauty. The images breathe a diversity and naturalness missing from the Western world. Gerth's photography has been shown in International exhibitions and published in numerous magazines including Time Magazine who named him a world changer.
