BONE INLAY

The art of inlay is specific to the Udaipur region of India, where this meticulous skill is handed down from generation to generation. Three craftsmen are employed to make a piece of Inlay furniture: the first hand-carves bone into delicate shapes; the second applies the bone pieces onto a wooden frame in intricate patterns; while the third fills in around the intricate pattern with the coloured resin background. The entire process takes about 3 weeks.

At Frey we pride ourselves on ethically and sustainably sourced pieces.

Our Bone Inlay collection is handcrafted from ethically sourced Buffalo Bone. Our artisans purchase materials from sellers who are accredited by the Indian WCCB (Wildlife Crime Control Bureau).

Care Instructions 

To clean your bone inlay furniture we recommend wiping with a slightly damp cloth every 6-12 months to rehydrate with Feast Watson Mastertouch Furniture polish (available at your local supermarket and hardware store). Bone Inlay furniture has a porous surface, so items in high-use situations - such as coffee tables - should be sealed prior to use. Grout sealant (available from any hardware store) is suitable for this task.

INDIGENOUS ARTWORK

Frey places ethics at the the forefront and empower artists to decide how they want to work. All artists we collaborate with work from a welcoming and fair studio to paint in gallery in Alice Springs, Northern Territory ensuring quality and authenticity. The gallery is a member of the Aboriginal Art Association of Australia, an organisation promoting ethical and best industry practices.  Each piece of art comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Frey works with several incredibly talented female Indigenous artists including Margaret Scobie, Rosemary Pitjara, Patricia Kamara and Cindy Morton.

DO YOU OFFER A LAYBY?

We know that purchasing your dream piece of furniture or artwork can be an investment. 

At Frey we are happy to offer different payment options to suit your needs, so you can secure that special piece that has caught your eye.

Our terms and conditions are as follows:

- A deposit of 30% of the total purchase value is required to secure the lay-by

- The total lay-by period must not exceed 4 weeks.

- Payments can be made via bank transfer or credit card.

- Customers will be contacted at the end of the lay-by period should it not have been finalised by that date.  At that time the lay-by must be finalised or Frey has the right to then cancel the lay-by and the customer will then be given a refund for their payments made to date, less the cancellation charge.

- No items can be taken by the customer until the entire lay-by has been paid in full.

    ONLINE RETURNS & EXCHANGES

    We want you to love your purchase from Frey.  If for some reason you need to exchange or return an item, please do so in its original packaging and condition. Frey allows up to 7 days from receipt of your order for any full priced item. 

    Strictly no return or exchanges on sale items or printed artwork.  Please note all prints are printed as ordered, so please select your products carefully as there are no refunds or exchanges for a change of mind.

    Frey will not be liable for the loss or damage of items being returned and we ask that you return any items using registered mail in the box and packaging in which they were shipped. Please allow two weeks from the day you return your package for your account to be credited. Customers will be responsible for all return shipping and handling charges.

    Exchange items will be processed as a return and a new sale will incur new shipping fees.

    Returned items must be unused, in the condition you received them, and in the original packaging.  Please note that we will not replace, exchange or refund any items that are damaged as the result of:

    Accidents

     - Mishandling

     - Abusive knocks

     - Normal wear and tear

     - Ageing and natural tarnishing

        LOST OR DAMAGED GOODS

        If goods are lost or damaged in transit, please contact us at hello@frey.net.au within 7 working days of placing your order so we can look into this matter further.

          We are thrilled to be able to offer International shipping on most of our products.  Please contact us at hello@frey.net.au with your location and the products you are interested in and we will be happy to organise a quote for you on shipping.  Most International packages reach their destination within 7-10 days of your order being placed.
