Mario Gerth's Journey Down Under

It's been almost 5 years now since Frey launched Mario Gerth onto the Australian market.  Frey's Isabella Patterson made the discovery via social media and since then, Frey has been one of Gerth's biggest advocates in Australia.

Mario's photography is a collection of intimate portraits and photography that pay homage to Africa and the African people.

Frey has styled Mario's work in some of Melbourne's most beautiful homes, with these images being widely recognised on social media including Pinterest.  One favourite is 'Buni', the beautiful boy from the Suri Tribe in Ethiopia.  This iconic image has become such a Frey favourite, we decided to commission street art of this image on the side of our building; now a widely recognised feature of the shopping precinct.
